No, it's not something I'm proud of, but it just goes along with my issues with technology. I admit I had to have Andy set up my blog for me. No matter what the situation, I will always have a problem doing any task that involves any type of technology newer than the 1980's, even when it is not completely my fault. I have constant problems between my home computer (dial up, you gotta love it), the computer I use at the school I work out of (blocked e-mail accounts), and the library (can never get a computer with sound, can't listen to You Tube or podcasts). I did a brochure for my after school program and literally had to cut and paste (like with scissors and tape) before I could make copies. I think my major accomplishment last year was learning how to open and send attachments to e-mails. Hopefully my comments will not always revolve about what I learned today that has something to do with technology, but considering I'm off to a rough start already, I thought the blog name would set the tone for future posts. Can't wait to try to listen to lecture on a podcast! I'll let you know how that one goes. Until next time...

I absolutely love your blog title. I'm truly amazed at how many people (including myself) can't seem to keep up with ever-changing and evolving technology. What I often wonder is...is it supposed to be this hard??? My teenage daughter can zip through the computer, cell phones, mp3 players, and any other piece of technology with no problem, but me...well I'm a bit slower than normal, but like you I'm getting there. Take your time, though. Technology will be around for a long time. We can all learn together. That's what it's all about. :)
There is good news. Early adopters end up paying big bucks for every new gadget and waste a lot of time with every new technology before they move on to whatever is new so that they can waste even more time and money. Late adopters come into the mix later, buy technology at bargain basement prices and use tried and true technologies that have a proven record of making people's lives more productive or interesting.
Hey classmate! It's nice to know you have a sense of humor about your lack of experience - not lack of knowledge, because once you get rollin, you'll be rockin... or something like that. But, looking forward to our "Teen" class together and looking forward to seeing your progress with the blog (and other endeavors). Before we know it, you'll be giving us all tips on our own technology challenges... definitely looking forward to that because I'm not that great with it either (most of the time I just try things out and see what happens, which gets frustrating when the wrong thing keeps happening). What will she do next?
Anytime I don't know how to do something on the computer (or my cell phone or any other techie stuff), I ask my kids. I'm sure they think I'm an idiot as many times as I've needed help. Even now, I'm trying to figure out how to get a new background on my blog and I think my daughter is going to have to do it for me. :)
